Palo Santo is sacred or holy wood native to Peru, Ecuador, Venezuela and Mexico which grows to a height of up to 60 feet.  The essential oil is extracted from the dead branches and wood by steam distillation.  It has been used for centuries by the local inhabitants to cleanse and purify energy.

Palo Santo pure essential oil can be diffused ito clear bad or negative energy and deflect psychic attack and is a great oil to use when a house  or office needs clearing.  It is also used in shamanic circles  and ceremonial prectices to invoke the energy of ancestors (especially from South America)  or in shamanic journeying. It is a wonderful oil for meditation. 

Palo Santo essential oil helps one to balance and centre oneself when feeling out of sorts. It helps to bring focus, to set aside fears, and to clear negative mental energy associated with jealousy, negative self-talk, confusion and general chaos.

It has a fresh, woody fragrance which can help to draw out dark, negative emotions  so that they can be released. It reduces anxiety and stress and uplifts your mood. It is grounding, calming and protective.

On the physical level it eases congestion and helps to clear your breathing passages. It relieves pain and inflammation and can be used  alone diluted in a carrier oil  or  blended with other synergistic oils for that purpose. It is calming to the immune system and is useful as a restorative after illness or stress.   It is also an effective mosquito repellant.
