Libyan Glass is a glassy yellow stone  found in Libya and Egypt.  It is thought to have been formed when a meteorite hit the inhospitable Western Desert and catapulted molten rock and sand into the stratosphere creating a glass-like substance. It was valued by the ancient Egyptians  for ritual jewelllery to bring the Sun God to earth. Libyan Glass formed part of the protective scarab that guided Tutankamun on his after-life journey to the stars.
